Teachers Honoring Teachers

  • Any full-time teacher (classroom, special, special ed., counselor, school psychologist, nurse, etc.) in the General McLane School District is eligible.

  • Only teachers can nominate a fellow teacher for this award.

  • Watch your email for next month's nomination form!

  • Four teachers (high school, middle school, Edinboro Elementary and McKean Elementary) will be randomly selected each month.

  • Each honoree will receive a certificate and Edinboro Community Gift Cards.

Congratulations to our March-April 2023 Winners

General McLane High School -- Sarah Webb

Nomination by Megan Green:  Sarah works incredibly hard in her position, coming in early to run the GM Cafe and often staying late or working on weekends to prepare for her classes, the Cafe, and her positions as Advisor for both Student Council and the Senior Class. She personally connects with every one of her students and provides support in all areas of their lives. Sarah creates such a positive atmosphere in the school.

General McLane High School -- Hannah Washek

Nomination by Melanie Mischler:  I have been co-teaching with Hannah for two years now and gotten to see, first hand, what an exceptional teacher she is. She truly cares about each of her students and works hard to help them be successful. Additionally, she is a wonderful co-teacher and has really carried the weight of the class this semester as I have been in and out with medical issues.

Parker Middle School -- Dawn Johnson

Nomination by Tanis Tuttle:  Dawn Johnson does not have a degree in teaching but she is a teacher in every aspect of my classroom. She creates activities, delivers instruction and assists students all day long. I consider her my co-teacher not my aide.

Parker Middle School -- Stephanie Fritts

Nomination by Scott Hutchison:  Stephanie is such a hard worker and is always willing to try new things the meet the needs of her students. She puts her heart into getting kids to become better readers and develop a love for it.

Edinboro Elementary -- Julie White

Nomination by Ann Bortnick:  Julie is a great team player and communicator. She is always making sure students have what they need to learn and be successful in her class. She goes above and beyond to help others!

Edinboro Elementary -- Kelly Skelton

Nomination by Michelle Kupczyk:  Kelly is a teacher that not only teaches her students how to be successful academically, but she also takes time to teach them how to handle different life situations. Our grade level is very lucky to have her.

McKean Elementary -- Anna Rupert

Nomination by Breanna Sonney:  Anna is a wonderful reading teacher and person. She make sure students are getting the reading support they need. Anna is also so helpful to other teachers in our building.

McKean Elementary -- Jill McGee

Nomination by Sarah Grossett:  Jill is such a patient, positive influence on her students. She plans motivating, fun activities for her students to complete. She cares deeply about her students and co-workers at McKean, and her dedication shows every day!
